Rainforest exploration

Local wildlife and plant expert William leads our group through the rainforest that borders the Chilamate Exolodge. Students learned about many of the fascinating plants, insects, and birds that live in the forest, such as this species of pepper plant that, when dried, turns into a surprisingly durable and versatile rubber-like substance that can be used to plug up holes in soccer balls. Henry and Oliver test out their own strength in stretching it.
